This was taken looking South West from our deck at the resort.
We left home about noon on a Thursday and made good time up to Rice Lake, Wisconsin where we spent the night at a really nice old resort. Our room had a view of the lake and you could walk right out the back door and within a few steps you are in the water.
This was taken looking North West from our deck at the resort.

History repeats it's self?... as I think I was around 7 the last time I was here...mom took a picture of my brother and me here 50 some years ago.
The next day (Friday) we stopped in Haugen, Wisconsin where Susie went to school when she was a kid...the school is now a museum and her room was behind the window to her left on the bottom floor.
Here's slew just East of the lodge.
This duck flew out of the slew...
The wind pointer has been stuck pointing South West for sometime now.
The farm as seen from the East coming in.
This little fellah was out in the field more than once while we were there and he was fun to watch as he would duck down and pop up all about.
The barn swallows were just leaving the nests as we also were leaving for home.
These guys decided to raise their family just North of us.
The Canola fields were in full bloom while we were there.
Many beautiful sunsets as usual.
LaVon Wagenman painted this vase and gave it to Susie when we stopped to see them...she is a really good artist.

And I came away with something I have wanted for some time now...a North Dakota license plate thanks to Bruce Lewallen.
It looks pretty cool doesn't it?

Now we did get plenty of work done on this trip...the kitchen floor is all down and the hallway too. The North wing, we finished with the siding and gave the whole wing 2 coats of Farm Red. The valleys on the roof between the kitchen and bins are water tight now that I have fiber glassed them. And of course we did some mowing too. Oh yeah...and we rode our bikes up and down the old gravel roads too.
