Put a new motion detector light on the front porch and it really works good and lights up the porch quite nicely.

However as cool as the lights on the front porch are...no comparison to this rainbow early one morning.

When the sun shines over the land up here and the skies in the background are dark...well just look at that will you?

When the mowing is done and the day is almost done it not only feels good it looks good.

That's my shadow there...it must be a good fifty yards long...that's right...I cast a pretty big shadow.

So I noticed that the light tower straight East of us there in town changes from white during the day to red at night...it never changes at the same time each night so I am curious about the timing.

A favorite time up here is breakfast time for sure.

With the fields North of us put to sunflowers this year there's a lot of blackbirds that like to visit.

We didn't see the moose this time however there were quite a few deer running around.

And ducks...lots of ducks.

And because there are many ducks...well then here come the hunters....

Look closely here and you'll see the guys on the bottom left and there up in the sky...many ducks without a clue that these guys want to kill them.

Austin Lutes, Maclain Herr and Bailey Hershberger (Some young men from back home in Indiana) drove through the night and got in around 7:00 am Friday morning...they ate some breakfast and went directly out to the fields to do some scouting. More on these guys whenever we get some more pictures.

So we left about the same time the guys arrived and had a nice slow trip home. We stopped in Troy Grove, Illinois...home town of Wild Bill Hickok.
