The old Kahl place straight East from the farm. Try to stay focused on the old farm house!
the NORTH PRAIRIE LUTHERN CHURCH just this side of Leeds, ND...on the left a photo of a photo taken probably when the church was first built (notice there are no trees in sight?) and then on the right as it is today...not much has changed except for perhaps the number of people in attendance these days. We went to the Sunday services there, Mike Rohrer does double service (no pun intended) at the Assembly of God in Cando, ND also. He gave a fine "Memorial Day" sermon which was well prepared. We met all of the people there and had a good visit with them afterwards. This is also the site of the annual "HUNTER'S BREAKFAST" in October so we will be sure not to miss that this year.

Mom gave us this rug that was made by my Great Grandma Kesler and it fits great right down the hallway to the North Wing. Another item that has been in both North Dakota and Indiana perhaps twice each since created. If Great Grandma made this in Indiana in the beginning then it went out to North Dakota for a time...then back to Indiana with us and now back to North Dakota. It's lost some color sure and shows some wear also however it is a wonderful work of art just the same to me.
Out in the Granary where Grandpa Mac kept the out grain truck I found a couple of scare crows that probably were made by Grandpa. Funny that one of them is sporting bib overalls with a BIG MAC label still in tacked.
A pie cooling on the railing...now it doesn't get much better than this! Try to stay focused on the pie!
Table set for supper in the kitchen here.
In the living room we have the 2 little cabinets that Grandpa salvaged from an old worn down roll top desk...these we had back in Indiana for may years also but they belong up here for sure...and the little "lantern" on top...well that's from an old kerosene stove that had been discarded out in the woods.
Although it was a pretty dry winter and spring up here the slew to the East still has plenty of water standing in there with plenty of ducks swimming about also,
The lilacs were in bloom again this May so Susie had to dress up the table with some.
We set our computers up in the living room and believe it or not we did do some work while we were up there this time...the painting that is hanging on the wall in the right photo is the work of Hoosier wild life artist
Bruce Langton...he's a real good painter and also a real nice guy...he let us use an image of one of his paintings in some DU glass pieces we used to produce years ago. So it's nice to have this reminder of him up there on the living room wall.
Here's a couple of pictures of mom's favorite duck...the Rudy duck.
And these yellow headed black birds don't mind at all that you take there picture.
Not sure what kind of duck this is...I'll bet Tim Torrence could tell us though...well Tim?
My favorite ducks are the Canvass backs show above.
What kind are these Tim?
How about these?
The widows in the church that Babe attends are wonderful and I finally had some time to get some pictures taken of them.
It was Memorial day and we were glad to have some family join us for breakfast...my mom's first cousins, Richard and Darrell Fox and their wives. Darrell from Langdon and Richard from Grand Forks...quite a trip for all of them for sure. We all set about the kitchen table till around 12 o'clock noon and talked about the "good ole days" around the farm here...It's kind of funny that we all are wearing suspenders don't you think?
